Praise and Prayer

May 19th& what an amazingly sweet day. After a prayerful, blessed courtship and engagement, our daughter Hannah was joined in marriage to Daniel David Creed Winter. By the grace of God, Daniel and Hannah had saved their hearts and bodies for one another (even their first kiss!), so their wedding day was overflowing with the fruits and sweetness of this. The ceremony and celebration were held outside, and we were very grateful for the pleasant sunshine and a cool breeze the Lord blessed every detail of the day. Daniel and Hannah are now enjoying a three-month honeymoon in the Californian mountains. Please pray for them as they begin their life together, and also for Hannah, as she is fighting Lymes Disease. Also, please be praying for Melissa as she caught a cold/flu which some of our friends have caught and said lasts 11+ days.  Melissa is in bed & on her 5th day still a little feverish, & with a sore throat, etc..  Even feeling sick, she has a great heart to give and spread cheer all around.   I'm amazed and thankful...

Melissa, Chloe, & I were SOOO blessed to go to a one-of-a-kind seminar a couple weeks ago that encourages marriage relationships and especially blessing the next generations.  We so want to spur you on to schedule time to go to this.  It's fantastic because God is alive and working through it.  You will be touched in a very special way.  It's more than a seminar.  The content is very heart and thought provoking. Chronological Bible Storying for Grassroots Church Planting Movements

The training went very well for starting church planting movements through training semi-literate people within an oral culture to reach their own through Chronological Bible Storying.  This includes all the stages from initial evangelism and the planting of a church to discipling, and to training church leadership. God is really at work to reach the unreached!  The material (print & video) is in English, Spanish, and French.  I really want to translate the core materials into Portuguese.  Please pray about our translation effort - when it can get started and how well it can be done.  Thanks!   Jim Bowman who has been a missionary for 25 years started this type of training 10 years ago in India first, then many other places around the world.  In the last 10 years, 500 story tellers have been trained and 3000 churches planted.  We have an excellet 10 minute video clip and more we could share with you all on this and also on the Community Health Evangelism (C.H.E.).  Please e-mail or call us to get our DVD and you can play it for any group you get together with in your church.

Off to Mozambique

By the Lord's grace, we're hoping to be able to finalize plans in September for leaving for Mozambique at the end of the year.  Between now and the end of October we are set to be at 5 new churches presenting the mission.  Several others are yet to be scheduled.   I do get stressed sometimes while operating by sight instead of by faith.  There is really nothing to fear, and I thank God that in Christ He "raised me up and seated me with Him in the heavenly realm in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages He might show the incomparable riches of His grace, expressed in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus." (Eph 2:6-7)
